Monday nights, 6PM, at Awesome Inc., we meet up to expose ourselves to indie games. C’mon out and look at how small game designers are pushing
the medium, or bring something we can play!
This week we played Titan Souls, Enviro-Bear 2000, Amirelia, & Tales from the Borderlands.
Titan Souls
Titan Souls is an action-adventure game that could be most easily (if not most accurately) be described as Legend of Zelda meets Shadow of the Colossus.
Some complaints: the environmental details can be occasionally confusing, and the ability to change camera can be nauseating. There are lots of neat secrets peppered throughout the world that are waiting to be found, inside of a fairly interesting concept.
Titan Souls can be purchased on Steam.
Enviro-Bear 2000
“What kind of messed up car is this?”
“One that is not designed for bears.”
A game about driving around collecting food in a car as a bear. This is part of the original trend of making games that are difficult to control on purpose, but this game tells a story in how the controls are difficult.
This game is available to play on Game Jolt.
Amirelia
A game whose primary mechanic is cooperation and friendship, where two players play on the same gamepad . The art is inspired by biological elements. Amirelia has a sort of Amanita Designs feel with a two player focus.
Amirelia is currently on Kickstarter
Tales from the Borderlands
A game from the point and click adventure folks Telltale meeting in the middle with Gearbox’s Borderland’s universe. The game went through a great deal of effort to belong in the Borderlands universe — character design, UI and introductions are all true to the original game.
The game is available on multiple platforms, including Steam and PlayStation 4.
Have an indie game you’re enjoying? Bring it out next week at 6PM at Awesome Inc.
