After a 16 hour trek by car, the Run Jump Dev team made it to The Intercontinental Hotel in Boston around 2am Wednesday morning. Despite the long drive, everyone was excited to be in Boston for the 2013 PAX East Conference. 10 games will be represented with Frog Dice, Super Soul, and Shobu Games having demos available to play at our booth #785 this Friday through Sunday.

The next day some of us headed to the Boston Conference Center to drop off all of the gear we brought, which included 10 bottles of Lexington’s own Town Branch Kentucky bourbon for a party later this weekend. That afternoon, a group of us headed out to see Harvard’s campus.

On the drive out there, acting tour guide Chris Bruser, who spent some time working in Boston, was pointing out some of the Harvard buildings while Richie was in the back of the van singing harmony to the song “Where Everybody Knows Your Name” from the Cheers sitcom. It was at this point that he spoke up to say, “Wait, are we passing by Harvard campus? I wasn’t paying attention,” ironically revealing the reason he would never be admitted as a student.

After having lunch at Charlie’s Kitchen, a group of us toured the campus by foot, hoping to improve our IQ’s in the process. Stopping by Starbucks beforehand we hopped on the Redline Train to get back to the hotel.

That night we went out to dinner on Hanover Street to La Familia Spagnuolos, a quaint Italian restaurant that treated us like we were one of their own. Afterward Patrick Kelly convinced the group to stop in at Geloto’s just up the street for some Cannoli. With full stomachs we all headed back to the hotel where everyone got back to work prepping for the weekend’s festivities. More pictures will be up soon. Stay tuned for more updates all weekend!
