Monday nights, 6PM, at Awesome Inc., we meet up to expose ourselves to indie games. C’mon out and look at how small game designers are pushing the medium, or bring something we can play!
Today’s game included 18 Cadence, Gang Beasts, & Nothing to Hide.
18 Cadence
18 Cadence is a work of interactive fiction and potential iPad application. It was made by interactive fiction writer Aaron Reed. The game explores 100 years in the life of a house, and includes several innovative elements.
You can play the game at Aaron Reed’s website.
Gang Beasts
Gang Beasts is a competitive fighting game. This game is in it’s second pre-Alpha state, and to a certain extent it shows. The game suffers from some issues with controls, and we couldn’t successfully complete the tutorial level.
What the game lacks in polish, it makes up for with engaging game play and distinct level design. Once we got the hang of the game, we played most of the maps and there were moments of epic interaction.
You can find out more about the game at the Game Beasts Indie DB.
Nothing to Hide
Nothing to Hide is the anti-stealth game, you must always stay in site of the camera’s eyes. It’s an HTML 5, broswer game with a distinctive style and aesthetic, and is about a Big Brother-esque State.
You play Poppy, the daughter of a politician, as she tries to escape (by staying in sight of the cameras — people outside of the ever watchful eye of the government. Typically games on this subject are about staying out of the line of sight, but Nothing to Hide is all about staying IN the line of site.
You can pick up this game from the developers website.
Have a game you’d like to show? Bring it out to Indie Game Night, every Monday at 6PM at Awesome Inc.
