Sometimes a new indie game comes out, and it’s go a little something extra to say. When this happens, and you want to talk a bit more in depth about independent games, we now have Indie Game of the Month Club.

Think of this like a Book Club. Once a month, we’ll select a new game to talk about and we’ll spend some time discussing the game in greater depth. We’ll take a closer, developer’s eye to really discuss the game beyond just the surface level of “it was cool.”

This months game is indie Harvest-Moon-like Stardew Valley. What is Stardew Valley?

From the games Steam page:

You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!

Stardew Valley is currently available on Steam for $14.99.

This month we’re relocating for a period of time at the 21C Museum Hotel in downtown Lexington, KY. Parking is downtown parking, with all that entails but as it is the weekend there is free metered parking.

More up to date information is available on the Facebook event page.
